Privacy

Dear Sir or Madam, We are pleased that you have contacted NSW as a customer, interested party, supplier, and service provider, or that you have visited our website www.nsw.de. The protection of your personal data is very important to us and therefore we would like to inform you below about how we handle your data in accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Responsible Party
The party named in the imprint is responsible for this website and the data collection and processing described below.

Your personal data

Voluntary information:
We generally only collect the data necessary to initiate or conclude a contract. Since we only offer our services to business customers, personal data is generally limited to contact details and the facts underlying our services, which may contain data of data subjects in individual cases. The provision of further information is voluntary. There are no negative consequences for not providing this data. Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH (NSW) thanks you for your visit to its website and for your interest in our company and products. NSW undertakes to protect the privacy of visitors to its website. The following guidelines will describe how data relating to you will be collected and processed.

Data processing for contract fulfillment:
We process the contact details of our contact persons in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for the purpose of contract fulfillment. If necessary, personal data will be passed on to the companies involved in the execution of this contract, e.g., credit institutions for payment processing or our logistics service provider for the transport of goods. The data required to fulfill the contract will be archived for the duration of the contractual relationship and subsequently within the framework of statutory retention periods. After the statutory retention period has expired, the data will be deleted.

Storage of the IP address
We store the IP address transmitted by your web browser for a period of seven days in order to be able to detect, isolate, and eliminate disruptions or errors (e.g., attacks on our servers). After this period, we delete or anonymize the IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR

Usage Data
When you visit our websites, so-called usage data is temporarily stored on our web server as a log for statistical purposes in order to improve the quality of our websites. This data set consists of:

  • the page from which the file was requested,
  • the name of the file,
  • the date and time of the request,
  • the amount of data transferred,
  • the access status (file transferred, file not found),
  • a description of the type of web browser used,
  • the IP address of the requesting computer, which is shortened so that a personal reference can no longer be established.

The log data mentioned is only stored anonymously.

Online Shop
We store and use the personal data you provide to us during the order process based on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR exclusively for processing your orders. We use your email address, for example, to clarify any questions you may have about your order or to inform you about the status of your order.

Data processing based on consent:
If you have given separate consent to be informed about company products and services by email, the corresponding processing will be carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Your consent can be revoked at any time without affecting the legality of the processing carried out so far. If consent is revoked, we will cease the corresponding data processing.

Data transfer to third parties
We transfer your data as part of order processing in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR to service providers who support us in the operation of our websites and the related processes. Our service providers are strictly bound to our instructions and contractually obligated accordingly. We use the following service providers: Google Analytics, Rhenus Ports Services GmbH.

Data transfer to third countries
We sometimes transfer personal data to a third country outside the EU. We have ensured an appropriate level of data protection in each case. In the case of Google Analytics and Google Maps (USA), an appropriate level of data protection results from our participation in the Privacy Shield Agreement (Article 45 (1) GDPR).

Cookies
We use cookies on our websites. Cookies are small text files that can be stored and read on your device. A distinction is made between session cookies, which are deleted as soon as you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which are stored beyond the individual session. Cookies can contain data that enables recognition of the device used. However, some cookies also contain only information about certain settings that are not personally identifiable. We use persistent cookies on our websites. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR and in the interest of optimizing or enabling user guidance and adapting the presentation of our website. You can set your browser to inform you about the placement of cookies. This makes the use of cookies transparent for you. You can also delete cookies at any time using the corresponding browser settings and prevent new cookies from being placed. Please note that our websites may then not be displayed optimally and some functions may no longer be technically available.

Google Analytics
To tailor our website to meet your needs, we create pseudonymous user profiles with the help of Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies that can be stored on your device and read by us if you consent to the use of cookies. With your consent, you enable us to recognize and count you as a returning visitor. Data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. If you give your consent, the information generated by the cookie about your use of this website will generally be transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, since we have activated IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google beforehand within member states of the European Union. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA (an adequate level of data protection is ensured according to Art. 45 (1) GDPR through Google's participation in the Privacy Shield) and shortened there. We have also concluded a contract for order processing with Google Inc. (USA) in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. Google will therefore only use all information strictly for the purpose of evaluating your website usage and compiling reports on website activity for us. You can object to this processing at any time. Please use one of the following options: You can prevent cookies from being saved by setting your browser software accordingly; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all of the features of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your website usage (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de). You can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set that permanently prevents the future collection of your data when you visit this website: Click here to object to the processing of your data by Google Analytics.

Contact form
You have the option of contacting us via a web form. To use our contact form, we need your name, email address, and the reason for your inquiry. These fields are mandatory; without them, we cannot process your inquiry. You may provide additional information, but you are not required to do so. Embedded YouTube videos
We use embedded YouTube videos on our website. When you access a page with embedded videos, YouTube content (e.g., the preview image) is already loaded, even if you have not yet clicked on the video. In order to embed the videos in the most data protection-compliant way possible, we have activated the advanced data protection settings when embedding.

Google Maps
We have integrated Google Maps into our website in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, so that you can plan your route to our company locations. If you use the map, e.g., by clicking on our location listed there, we do not collect any data from you. To the best of our knowledge, Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, does not collect any personal data as part of Google Maps. NSW has no influence on the processing of data by Google Inc. Please note the terms of use for Google Maps, which can be found at https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/help/terms_maps.html.
